Yoga, possible in traffic?

The traffic It is effectively tedious and uncomfortable, but we have the option of deciding how to manage within it. That's why we present some exercises you can do when cars do not move an inch.

Yoga for the eyes

  1. Bring the gaze from below upwards, downwards and to the sides slowly, without blinking.
  2. Take the look from the upper left diagonal to the lower right diagonal and vice versa, slowly, without blinking.
  3. Open and close the eyes with a slight pressure, repetitively for a few seconds.

Twists

  1. Turn the torso to the back of the car, take the seat with both hands while the hip remains looking towards the steering wheel, hold for a few breaths and repeat to the other side.

It is important to remember that torsions stimulate the spine, and this in turn, the central nervous system. Because the column is our most important energy channel, we also allow a better flow of prana or vital energy through it.

Neck stretches

  1. Take the left ear with the right hand and stretch the left side of the neck, hold for a few breaths and then change to the other side.
  2. Make circles with the neck, to one side and then to the other, it is important to stretch the sides well, and bring the chin to the chest, but be careful not to take the head far back because we press the cervical.

Shoulders

  1. Make circles with the shoulders, from back to back, and vice versa.
  2. Raise the shoulders towards the ears, hold while holding the breath, and release the shoulders during the exhalation. It is important to remember that both inhalation and exhalation are long, deep and through the nose.

Hands

Practicing some mudras or gestures with your hands, can help us to give mobility to the energy in the body and in turn to tone your hands, relaxing them from the stress generated by the use of devices such as computers, tablets or cell phones.

Pranayama or breathing

  1. If we need to raise our energy level due to fatigue, cold, depression, laziness, etc. We can do Ujjayi pranayama.
  2. If we need to balance our energy level to achieve an even state we can apply Samavritti pranayama.
  3. If we need to lower the energy level by excess stress, anger, courage, haste, etc. We can apply Sitali pranayama.
