What to do if you left your children alone at home?

After the earthquake that we lived on September 19 in Mexico City, work activities have been reactivated and many children still do not go to school.

If you had to leave your children alone at home, take into account the following prevention measures to follow.

 

Before leaving home

1. Tell your neighbors that your children will be alone so that, in case of any emergency, they can go to them.

2. Accommodate objects that may fall in an appropriate place or secure them, so that if an earthquake occurs, do not fall on them, or hurt the children.

3. Close the gas keys.

4. If your house has stairs, clear any toy or item that could hinder in case of evacuation.

5. Place the television and sound equipment on the floor. Ask your little ones not to catch them.

6. Change the place of the children's bed if it is near the windows.

7. Remove the toys from the shelves.

8. Leave them water, canned food, flashlights and batteries.

9- If they have a cell phone, ask them to leave it in order to communicate with them in case of an earthquake.

10. Leave them emergency numbers, in addition to yours or other family members.

11. Teach them the safest area of ​​your house in case you start to shake and ask them to keep calm.

Try to monitor them from your work as long as possible.
