Vote in favor of the first drug against lupus

Health experts in the United States voted in favor of first medication to treat Lupus disease in more than 50 years, and leave aside questions about its proper functioning in some ethnic groups such as African-Americans.

Benlysta , is the new medicine that promises treat pain caused by lupus, chronic autoimmune disease that attacks the tissues and organs of those who suffer from it, and yet very little is known about it.

Lupus can manifest with pain or inflammation in joints, muscle aches, fever, rashes red in the face, among other symptoms, according to data from Medline Plus.

The recommendation was made by U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) thus giving a step for its commercialization to the public. According to the publication of the newspaper Huffington Post, the drug was developed by the laboratory GlaxoSmithKline PLC.

The FDA however warned that the medication may not work in all patients and that much more research is needed about the disease so that results are found that can help everyone.
