Video games vs. dyslexia?

Do you like action video games? According to a study of the University of Padua, in Italy , practicing this type of games improves reading skills in people with dyslexia, especially in children.

I agree with you National Institutes of Health (NIH), dyslexia is a neurological disorder that affects the correct development of reading, due to the problems that are registered in the brain area that helps to interpret the language.

Children with this disorder have problems with sound separation and poor reading skills. Therefore, Italian researchers reveal that video games are useful to correct it.

In the research, published in the journal Current Biology , specialists observed that children with dyslexia who played 12 hours, divided into nine sessions of 80 minutes per day, improved their reading skills by increasing attention and speed.

Even researchers say that with this technique results are achieved faster, than those obtained in a year of traditional treatment, as reading exercises.

Children with dyslexia learn to orient and focus attention to recover more quickly relevant information from a written word, says Andrea Facoetti, one of the researchers.

With this study, dyslexia could be identified early and prevent its complication over time; however, remember that excesses should be avoided, because it could be counterproductive. And you, would you use video games as health therapy?
