They disguise the happiness of the Mexican

Are Mexicans really happier or do they disguise their reality? Sometimes people tend to settle for what they have around to complement their happiness and survive, but how true is their satisfaction for their working, economic, personal and social conditions?

According to the index "Better Life " of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Mexicans are happier than other inhabitants of the world, even though they work almost 500 hours longer than other people.

The OECD report specifies that 85% of Mexicans indicate that positive experiences predominate on a normal day than negative ones, that is, they experience more feelings of peace, satisfaction for their achievements and joy, than concern, sadness, pain or boredom

However, for the OECD, the country obtained a grade of 3.4 due to its low performance in issues such as work, insecurity and income.

The OECD notes that the country has made progress in the last 10 years regarding the welfare of its citizens, but still lacks attention to details such as employment, income, security, education and achieving a good balance between personal life and work.

For example, in Mexico the gap between the richest and poorest is very visible, because the population that is located in the top 20% of the income scale earns three times what a person who occupies the lower 20% perceives.

Mexicans work two thousand 250 hours a year, while in other countries they work 1,776 hours. 29% of employees have a very long schedule, of which 35% of men work more hours compared to 18% of women.

Meanwhile, the life expectancy of Mexicans at birth is almost 74 years, that is, six years less than the OECD average of 80 years. For women, it is 77 years old, compared to 71 years for men.

On the other hand, the level of atmospheric PM10 particles (air pollutant particles that can penetrate the lungs and damage them) is 33 micrograms per cubic meter, considerably higher than the average of the OECD of 21 micrograms per cubic meter.

Also, Mexico has a performance below the average in terms of water quality, because 78% of people say they are satisfied with the quality of the same, lower than the OECD average of 84%.

On the other hand, Mexicans have a moderate sense of community, because 76% of people believe they know someone they can trust; This figure is lower than the OECD average, which is 90%.

With all this information there are only a few questions to ask: does your work really meet your life expectations? Are you really happy with the life you have? What do you do to stimulate your personal and work growth every day?
