In recent days, one of the many photos of the earthquake that shook our country and that has touched us has spread.

And sometimes we think that the military is made of steel, that they work without "breaking" or that they "have no feelings". We never imagine an element of the Armed Forces vulnerable and empathic to the pain of others.

Well no, they have worked day and night in search of survivors, they have been in struggle and without rest. They also feel and suffer because of the pain we are all living.

The story behind the photo

The photo of the soldier crying in the rubble of a collapsed building in Morelos has already gone around the world. Why is this warrior crying? What was it that made him explode impotently in that way?

The element of the Armed Forces was captured in a photograph after, after long hours of searching, found the bodies of a young mother and her daughter, a little girl of just one year of age.

Paradoxically, this unbearable and empathetic pain was what gave Marco Gil Vega, photography professor at UVM Cuernavaca, Sam's husband and Sofía's father, some consolation.
