The type of shoes that we use day by day influences the development of certain diseases, such as the case of osteoarthritis , which occurs when a joint is worn. The risk of having it increases with harmful habits overweight , be sedative and wear shoes without heels (flats) or very high.
In an interview for GetQoralHealth , the doctor Salvador Rivero , president of Mexican College of Orthopedics and Traumatology (CMO), states that the heel itself should be used, but it must be less than 5 centimeters, to protect certain parts of the body, such as the knees, because it is common for them to wear out.
Ideally, women choose heels between 3 to 5 centimeters and men from 1 to 2 cm. This protects our back and prevents future injuries. "

In this sense the owner of the CMO, clarifies that another common problem are the sports shoes , which are designed to be used only a few hours (during some physical activity or exercise ) and not for the whole day:
When we are used to using tennis from a young age or we use it in adulthood as part of our day, it increases the risk of Achilles heel problems and damage joints , which could cause fractures and the person is more likely to develop problems of osteoarthritis ”.
