Sugar to treat wounds and ulcers

A study of University of Wolverhampton reveals that the sugar he is a powerful natural antibiotic which helps in the treatment of wounds and ulcers, facilitates healing and reduces pain, according to the Dailymail of England.

This research, based on popular African medicine, shows that it can be the key to the treatment of injuries that challenge modern medicine, due to the current abuse of medicines and the resistance generated by many microorganisms.

Moisés Murandu, professor of adult nursing at the University explains that since his childhood in Zimbabwe, he observed how his father used to use sugar to heal injuries and reduce the pain caused by them, so it seemed an alternative applicable to patients in the Moseley Hall Hospital .

One of the patients who received the treatment, as part of the research on the effectiveness of this natural antibiotic , was Alan Bayliss, from Birmingham, who underwent an amputation of his leg above the right knee due to an ulcer, whose wound the rest of the medications could not heal.

The treatment consisted of pouring sugar for two weeks, at the end of which it was observed that the affectation had been significantly reduced in size.

In this regard, the specialists explain that the treatment works because the bacteria they need water to grow, so the application of sugar he extracts it from the wound and  prevents microorganisms from multiplying, so they die and benefit from healing.

So far, 35 patients have received treatment with this natural antibiotic , which have seen their condition improve, with no adverse effects reported, compared to 16 patients who did not receive it.
For further study on the application of the paste sugar , more tests are carried out in other hospitals, such as West Midlands Moseley Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Manor Hospital in Walsall.
