Ssa detects obstetric emergencies by telephone

The Health Secretary (Ssa), through the National Center for Gender Equity and Reproductive Health (CNEGSR), makes available to the general public the telephone line 01 800 0 MATERNA (01 800 0 628 3762), to guide the pregnant in the detection of a obstetric emergency .

The federal agency points out that three Mexican women die every day due to complications of pregnancy or Birth ; so it is very important that they stay informed and go to the nearest medical unit to receive immediate attention and reduce maternal mortality.

It is expected that around 15% of the pregnancies and deliveries need emergency obstetric care, so that proper and timely care can be the difference between life and death.

Through this new method, it is intended to detect in a timely manner the symptom risk and send the affected to the medical units closest to your home.

We will also receive and respond to requests for support and complaints from users, in case of delay or denial of medical care and inappropriate treatment.

The hours of attention of 01 800 0 MATERNA is from Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and from 2012 it will be extended to cover 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
