Due to its consequences, preeclampsia is considered the first cause of maternal death in Mexico. This is a medical complication that occurs during pregnancy, and even in the postpartum period, which can cause seizures, stroke, multiple organ failure and death, both of them and the product.

It is not known exactly what causes this disease, occurs in the second half of pregnancy (from week 20) ​​and is more common if it is the first, if multiple, in adolescents, or in those over 35 years.

Safe prenatal control to prevent it

Likewise, extreme care is recommended in the presence of risk factors of the preeclampsia , such as a juvenile pregnancy or at an early age (less than 16 years), in old age (more than 30 years), obesity , risks of the first pregnancy, as well as a history of diabetes , kidney diseases and hypertension.
