Perceptions that affect

Although at present gender equality is increasingly supported, including the labor sphere , there are things that are still lagging behind, like the deals women in business.

And it is that according to a study set of researchers from the Berkeley-Hass and the University of Pennsylvania , at women they are lying more in the business , either with overlapping deceptions, half-way information, confusing them or lying to them shamelessly.

Perceptions that affect

After receiving several complaints from her students, Laura Kray , professor at Berkeley-Hass and leader of the study, together with other researchers decided to check whether at a more systematic level women are more likely than men to be deceived during the negotiations.

For the study the researchers instructed men and women to perform dynamics, in which they will play the role of sellers or buyers, simulating a negotiation and alternating the paper.

After several experiments, the results showed that the female negotiators were deceived , both by men and by women, much more than they, causing them to enter into agreements of business based on false assertions.

In one of the tests, 24% of men said they had lied to women, while they only cheated 3% of male participants. For their part, they lied to other females 17% of the time, and to them 11% of the time.

Yes, there is a clear cultural stereotype that women are easy to deceive and confuse, "says Kray.

The three basic perceptions that give rise to this scam and that were pointed out by the study participants, are:

1. Women are easier to cheat .

2. Women are incompetent in business.

3. Women are friendly , so they take less retaliation .

Thecordiality it diminishes their resistance to being deceived, because directly confronting their disappointment can be considered bad manners ", explains the researcher on this point.

These results are worrying because they put at risk the women to suffer tricks opportunists of all kinds. They are generally considered worse than men in negotiations, largely due to the stereotype of threats and reprisals.

If the treatments to women In business they are of this type, it is important to value the path of equality that we still have to cover. Both genders, it has been proven, are equally capable of developing important positions of work
