According to the research published in the Journal of Neuroscience , a dose of oxytocin helps to avoid infidelity in men, because it generates a feeling of discomfort with attractive women.

Oxytocin is a hormone that helps regulate moral behavior and trust between people. The body releases it when it feels comfortable and connected with someone, for example: during breastfeeding, during orgasm, in hugs and caresses or when dancing.

During the study, the researchers analyzed two groups of men, the first was given a nasal spray with oxytocin, while the second was given a placebo. Afterwards, all the males had to approach an attractive woman.

The men who had a relationship and who used the spray with oxytocin were placed at a minimum of 76 centimeters from the woman, while the single participants who inhaled the placebo approached 50 centimeters from her.
