Observe yourself

The skin is one of our main letters of presentation. According to its texture, it reveals how our health is, the eating habits we carry and even the age we have. However, there are marks on it, such as polka dots that although they seem harmless, can be the beginning of a serious problem: skin cancer.

The American Academy of Dermatologists (ADD) warns that currently there is more awareness among the population in relation to skin cancer, but not the same with the malignant melanoma type, which unlike the other can lead to death.

In this case it is cells that generate dark pigment and that in the skin are reflected as moles, which grow and deepen in the skin with the risk of generating metastasis, that is, the spread of cancer to other areas of the body.

The risk, says the expert, is that they do not necessarily sprout on sites of the body that are visible, sometimes this happens in hidden parts such as under the sole of the foot or some fingernail of this same area.

Observe yourself

Not all moles are malignant, however, it is essential that you learn to know your skin, check it continuously and in detail, at least once a month.

When this happens, what is indicated is that you visit a dermatologist immediately so that, based on the pertinent studies, he will remove it and send a sample of it to a laboratory for analysis to determine if it is a malignant melanoma or not. There is nothing to worry about.

Come without losing time to the specialist if you observe the following signs:

• When a new injury arises, if it has a special pigment.

• If it grows quickly.

• If it changes color.

• If it itches.

• If it looks like a wart.

Get to know yourself and do not hesitate to undergo a medical review before any change you notice in your skin or minimize it, put yourself in the hands of an expert and let him determine the type of care you require.
