Music improves symptoms of schizophrenia

Music therapy can provide help to improve the mental health of many people who suffer schizophrenia , although its effects have not been explored in acute psychosis, indicate studies published by Imperial Collage London and therapists Central and North West London Mental Health Trust.

Doctors and researchers tested for more than 12 weeks a group that was offered individual music therapy more standard care and to another group that was only given standard care.

The analysis of the results demonstrates a trend towards the improvement of the symptoms in the group that took music therapy, especially one was observed general improvement in the symptoms of schizophrenia.
