Mozart music without benefit for intelligence

Austrian scientists confirmed that listening to the compositions of the famous musician does not encourage intelligence in children, as it was said for some years.

The belief began in 1993 thanks to an American psychologist named, Frances Rauscher. He maintained that Mozart's musical pieces increased the intelligence quotient of babies and children.

The research that establishes the "Mozart effect" as a myth was carried out by Pietschnig and his colleagues from the School of Basic Research in Psychology at the University of Vienna, Austria.

During the investigation, 30 previous studies of the subject were analyzed and the influence of Mozart's music on 3,000 people was studied, without any specific effect on the intelligence.
