More of the cold ...

The reasons why we lose the usual body temperature in our body (37 C) are mainly sweat, the consumption of cold drinks, rest or reduce the activities we do on a daily basis and of course when exposed to low temperatures.

Publications of the City Council of Valencia reveal that the body heat it is maintained mainly for two reasons:

1. Muscular activity. Through exercise or other daily physical activities.

2. Digestion. The digestion of food makes 75% of the calories that are consumed be transformed into hot .

According to researchers from the University of Portsmouth the female body has a more uniform distribution of body fat than in the case of men. This means that men, having a higher percentage of muscle mass and body fat, have a better protection against low temperatures.

Mike Tipton , professor of human physiology at the university explains that the female body conserves heat better in the central organs, however, by making it less blood circulates in the upper extremities (hands) and lower (feet) which makes them feel colder.
