Messing too much causes risks

The teenagers who send text messages more than 120 times a day (or even more), they are more likely to have sex and use drugs and alcohol that young people who do not send so many messages, according to new research published by The Huffington Post Health.

The results of the study do not suggest that "messaging" much necessarily leads to having sex, drinking alcohol or trying drugs, but there seems to be a link between the excess messages and other types of risk behaviors.

The Dr. Scott Frank, project leader, concluded that there is a significant number of adolescents without adult supervision , which could indicate that if they do not monitor the behavior of a son or daughter who is exceeding the use of the cell phone, he or she could not monitor other types of activities.

The investigation was presented to the board of American Public Health Association of the United States in Denver. Within their discoveries it was also found that 1 in 9 young people tend to navigate in social networks for long periods of time, more than 3 hours a day visiting sites like Facebook or Twitter.

One young person in 25 falls in the two categories raised.
