Influenza vaccine can cause narcolepsy

The World Health Organization is reviewing the safety of Pandermix , laboratory vaccine GlaxoSmithKline's against Influenza AH1N1 , after a study determined that children who received the vaccine are 9 times more likely to suffer from narcolepsy , a strange disorder of the dream.

Narcolepsy causes a person to sleep suddenly and unexpectedly at any time. The cause that causes it is unknown but it is considered to be triggered by a combination of environmental factors and specific genetic conditions.

Researchers from the Finnish National Institute for Health and Welfare stated that their research suggests that the combination of vaccine Pandermix with other factors increases the likelihood of suffering from narcolepsy.

The investigation is considered preliminary and has been published in the National Institute for Health and Welfare (NIHW) . It indicates that there was an increase in cases of narcolepsy among 4-year-olds and 19-year-olds who were vaccinated against influenza.

GSK has distributed more than 31 million doses of Pandermix which have been administered in 47 countries. The company says it has received 162 cases of narcolepsy So far, with 70% of cases from Finland and Sweden. That is why it is still too early to draw conclusions.

The World Health Organization He said in a statement that more research is needed on the subject and that he is working on it.
