Influenza AH1N1 had international support

The detection of Influenza AH1N1 in Mexico and its timely notification to corresponding agencies, showed that our country complied with transparency international regulations, technical capacity, logistics and preparation to face this type of events, which gave it global credibility, said Secretary of Health, José Ángel Cordova Villalobos.

By leading the symposium "One year after the influenza A H1 / N1 2009 pandemic" , highlighted the exemplary participation of society, by responding to mitigation strategies and actions, acting in the best possible way with the Mexican State.

However, Mexico remains on epidemiological alert. Currently, there are more tools to deal with a problem of this level, as the health system and intersectoral work has been strengthened, and technical knowledge is available in the most important laboratories in Latin America, the United States and Canada.

Our country, he emphasized, continues to demonstrate social commitment and health responsibility that has traditionally operated, in a democratic framework, making decisions based on technology and science.

The federal health secretary said that this epidemic showed the need to treat patients with symptoms suggestive of influenza before having a laboratory diagnosis, have a strategic reserve of medicines, communication to achieve citizen participation, as well as vaccination .
