Influenza affected 258 people in 2011

According to the Federal Health Secretariat (Ssa), in 2011, 258 cases of influenza seasonal kind AH1N1 , a figure that represents 93% less than that registered in 2010, when there were 3 thousand 520 infections by this virus.

Of the total of 2011, 18 (58%) corresponded to the male sex and 13 (42%) to the female. The cases were registered in 21 states, of which six, accumulate 78%: Chihuahua, Puebla, Baja California, Federal District, Jalisco and State of Mexico.

On the other hand, the states of Puebla and Tlaxcala report an increase in the presence of cases of influenza in the last three weeks of 2012. In Puebla there are 42 confirmed cases, representing a decrease of 24% compared to 2010; 34 correspond to the month of December. In addition, three deaths were recorded.

The Ssa informed that in Tlaxcala there were seven confirmed cases, a figure that constitutes a reduction of 50% with respect to 2010, and five correspond to the month of December; However, in the first days of January of this year, cases of influenza , although the official figure, is not yet known.
