Increases the herpes virus

Did you know that 85% of the world population has had contact with the herpes virus? International organizations estimate that at some point in life we have suffered almost all humans, particularly through annoying labial fires and in the most dangerous version, through sexual transmission.

The problem is that many people minimize the problem, especially when it comes to herpes simplex, so they continue to lead a normal life without noticing that they can infect their environment.

What is herpes?

It is an infection caused by two types of viruses that are closely linked; These are easy to contract, have very similar symptoms and can appear in different parts of the body.

When this infection is located in the mouth, it is called oral herpes, while when it is located near the sexual organs it is called genital herpes. The United States is one of the countries with the highest rate of herpes transmission; About 90% of the individuals had some kind of herpes during their life and 31 million Americans have contracted it through sexual contact.

Herpes in Mexico

Figures from the IMSS indicate that up to 40% of Mexicans suffer from the oral herpes virus and at least 16% may have genital herpes.

The forms of transmission are diverse: either through the skin, through touching and kissing, or through sexual contact, whether anal, oral and vaginal. In this sense, it is unlikely that herpes will be transmitted through the seats of toilets, swimming pools, bathtubs, places of whirlpool or wet towels.

Take note...

Certain areas of the body are more likely to become infected like the wet part of the mouth, vulva, throat, anus, and eyes; If the skin is cut, burned, irritated, with a rash or other serious injuries, it can also be contagious.

A person with mouth sores can concentrate the herpes inside them, transmit it through oral sex and infect the other person. Under certain circumstances, a mother carrying the virus can transmit it to her baby during and after delivery.

Diagnosis and treatment

Herpes is incurable, but there is treatment to control it. It is a virus that is easily diagnosed by a medical examination and taking samples of the fluid extracted from the sores. There are drugs that help to heal quickly, making the symptoms not so painful; they diminish the appearance of eruptions, while the medication is ingested.

However, we must know that these remedies do not kill the herpes, nor prevent it from reappearing in the future: once the virus is contracted it is forever, even if no symptoms are present and can be reactivated at any time. The frequency of occurrences of herpes decrease for 5 or 6 years after having it. Beware of labial fires, protect your health and that of others.
