Increase insurance payment due to stress

Stress and the insecurity experienced by the Mexican population, caused a 15% increase in the number of accidents and claims paid by insurers.

According to the director of the Expo Asegúrate, Marcela Fernández, in the last months of the year there was an increase of 8.5% in the payment of policies related to the effects of stress.

In this regard, the specialist indicated that the stress is linked to accidents, attacks from hypertension , sequels of diabetes Y Heart problems .

In numbers

Fernandez said that in times of economic crisis too, the number of life policies contracted increases. During the financial crises of 1994 and 1997, life insurance increased 166%.

The reason is simple: People feel vulnerable and want to protect their family and / or heritage. The truth is that in Mexico there is still no culture to contract life insurance, among other things because it is an investment that not everyone can pay.

And is that only 5% of Mexicans are protected against health problems and only 6% of employees worldwide have a high purchasing power to cover this type of insurance.
