Hypoglycemia generates aggression

The people who have a minor glucose tolerance , who suffer from reactive hypoglycaemia after a sugar intake, are prone to present patterns of aggressive behavior , according to researchers from the University of Helsinki , Finland.

A low level of blood glucose can occur as a reaction after the consumption of products rich in refined sugars and poor in fiber , such as sweets, cakes and candies.

When these fluctuations occur at the level of Blood glucose , in a person whose values are below 50 mg / dl, favor the aggressive behavior, explain researchers of the University of Navarra Clinic.

In addition, symptoms of glucose deficiency may appear as headache , confusion, drowsiness , negative attitudes or pessimism, double vision and even psychosis or seizures, as well as low levels of serotonin at brain .

Anyone with this condition is able to go through a crisis due to an insufficient intake of food, if it is not treated quickly and correctly it can cause, in the most serious cases, a state of coma .

Therefore, specialists recommend that people with lower tolerance to insulin avoid the combination of refined sugars with alcohol and include in their diet foods rich in tryptophan (legumes, nuts and whole grains), precursors of serotonin, to prevent episodes aggressive and confusion.
