HPV causes predominant cervical cancer

Cervical cancer, also called cervical cancer attacks the reproductive system of women . The predominant cause is due to certain derivatives of the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), one of the several existing sexual diseases, which every day affects more adolescents in our country and around the world.

HPV is transmitted mainly during sexual intercourse and generally the body's immune system prevents the virus from affecting the sexual system - which is composed of the uterus, ovaries and vagina - in a serious way. However, in some cases it manages to survive long enough to affect the cells located on the surface of the neck, transforming them into carcinogens.

About 50% of cases of cervical cancer occur in women whose age ranges between 35 and 55 years, so it is recommended to have an annual Pap test.

Dr. Marco Marco Ronaldo Mario Di, health officer at the Institute of Sterility and Reproductive Health, S.C., notes that every woman, from the moment she initiates sexual relations or is sexually active, must perform the Papanicolaou to prevent potential health risks in the future.
