A study of University of Liverpool suggests that one of the benefits of fish oil is that it could minimize the negative effects of junk food on the brain.

The researchers of Institute of Aging and Chronic Diseases from the university, diets high in saturated fats can affect neurogenesis, which is the process that is responsible for generating new nerve cells.

The benefit of fish oil is that it prevents this negative effect through the stimulation of the area of ​​the brain that is responsible for regulating food, learning and memory, is highlighted in the study published in the British Journal of Nutrition.

In the information published on the portal of the house of studies, Lucy Pickavance, one of the authors of the study, explains that body weight is affected by various factors, especially by our type of diet.

For example, excessive intake of refined sugars and saturated fats causes weight gain, alterations in metabolism and damage to the mental process.
