How to know if you are pregnant?

Each woman experiences pregnancy in a different way. Some may have certain symptoms and may not notice others. There are even women who do not experience any signs, while others suffer dramatically from their new state. However, how do you know you are pregnant?

According to the Spanish obstetrician-gynecologist María Teresa Tapia , the best thing is to learn to listen to one's own body, and to realize each and every one of the changes that are being experienced.

In addition to the most frequent and known symptoms of pregnancy, the specialist adds, "you know you are pregnant when ..."

1. You get a huge desire to sleep every time. This is because the greater presence of progesterone induces sleep.

2. You feel punctures or small cramps in the area of the uterus. They are similar to the ovulation phase, which is why some women confuse it. The uterus begins to prepare to receive the pregnancy and you can notice those punctures

3. Decrease your blood pressure by vaso-dilation due to hormones. The hormonal change favors the low tension and this dizziness and fainting

4. "Cravings" appear. According to Dr. Tapia, hormones and special sensitivity make the woman may need a certain food. However, if these cravings are always sweet foods you have to be careful. The indiscriminate consumption of sugar is not good either in pregnancy or without being pregnant.

5. You have constipation and gas. This is due to the obstruction of gastrointestinal mobility by hormones

All these symptoms are normal and you should not worry about them, unless you are noticing that the pains become intense, the vomiting very habitual (if, for example, you can not retain the food).

The specialist reminds us that you should always inform your doctor about everything that happens as the pregnancy progresses, so you can advise us about it.
