According to the Mexican Association of Cystic Fibrosis , in the country only 15% of children born with this disease are diagnosed and it is usually done late, that is, when the child is more than two years old.

The association details that the cystic fibrosis it is a congenital alteration in the transport of water and they leave in the cells that cover the organs and tissues of the body; It mainly affects the respiratory and digestive system.

For the disease to develop, both parents must have the CF gene. If so, each pregnancy will have a 25% chance of having a child with the condition, 50% of being a carrier of the gene and 25% of being completely healthy.
