Early stimulation is a set of means, techniques and activities that are aimed at helping the infant's cognitive, physical and psychological development. This with the goal that achieve full growth in your life.

According to Head of Research of the Neuro Unit -Development of the Children's Hospital "Federico Gómez", Antonio Rizzoli , the early stimulation should start from when the child is in the womb. In addition, parents at this stage have an essential role, since they are the ones who are in contact with the child all the time, they are in charge of showing behaviors and putting limits on them.

For this reason Rizzoli gives you four tips to start a good early stimulation:

1. Breastfeeding. While you're doing it, look him in the eyes, while you caress him, you talk and you sing.

2. Pronounce things by their names and correctly. If the child points, tell him the name of what he asks for and his characteristics.

3.  Speak clear. That they do not have yet developed the language, your example is the basis of this. Do not forget.

4. Every place and every moment are opportunities for stimulation and learning.

Before starting the early stimulation, you should take into account that if your child is premature, you should not compare your age with a newborn who has reached his gestation period. This is because their age differs due to the circumstances of the birth.

Consequences

The lack of early stimuli, such as talking, caressing and expressing emotions with the child in the first months can have an impact on being an adult who has trouble maintaining stable and lasting relationships.

If the child is not talked to and only allowed to point out things, he is overprotected so that he will have a delay in the language that later costs him to socialize with other children and later in his education.
