Enrique Morente dies from esophageal cancer

Enrique Morente Cotelo died due to complications from a surgical intervention in the gastrointestinal tract , at the Clinic of La Luz in Madrid, Spain; However, there are contradictions about the state of health that led him to the operating room.

According to statements by the doctors at the clinic where the famous singer underwent surgery, Morente had esophagus cancer with metastasis , but the artist's family filed a complaint for alleged Medical negligence , since they claim that the musician was operated as a result of a ulcer, informs the portal of the Spanish newspaper El País.

The medical team explained in a statement that the patient had a Cancer of  4.5 centimeters in diameter, located in the middle third, with lymphatic metastasis, according to publications of the newspaper ABC of Spain.

The coroner of the court in charge of making the study post mortem to the body of Enrique Morente will determine the cause of death and if there was possible medical malpractice.
