Eliminate the insulin application!

When a tooth falls out of your child or a wisdom tooth is removed, what do you do? The most normal thing is that we discard it or keep it as a memory, but did you know that these teeth can help you to cure some diseases such as diabetes mellitus?

In an interview for GetQoralHealth, Víctor Saadia, director of BioEDEN Mexico , explains that "in the pulp of the teeth (soft tissue inside the teeth) there are stem cells in a multipotential state, that is, they can be converted into different types of cells."

In this way, dental stem cells can be used in treatments related to the regeneration of bones, muscles, skin, heart, as well as diseases that have no cure such as Parkinson's and diabetes.

Eliminate the insulin application!

Víctor Saadia explains that diabetes is characterized by insufficient production of insulin, which is a substance that the body secretes naturally to control glucose levels in the body.

In this way, when a patient suffers from diabetes it does not have the capacity to produce enough insulin, and that is why the treatment with stem cells found in the teeth is very useful, because these have the capacity to generate beta cells, which are those responsible for producing insulin.

"The experimental protocols that are currently being done are to help the body generate more beta cells to produce enough insulin, so that the patient does not suffer the consequences of diabetes mellitus," says Víctor Saadia.

He adds that there are several patients who after treatment of dental stem cells have lived without insulin injections or with a lower need for this substance.

It states that it is recommended that the patient keep his own stem cells in order to be able to regenerate himself.

How are stem cells preserved?

The specialist explains that when a tooth falls or a wisdom tooth is removed, the best thing to do is save the dental stem cells for the patient to use in the future for regenerative treatments.

For this, it is necessary to place the tooth in a special treatment, that is, if a dentist removes the tooth, it must be placed in a special tube, which is filled with whole milk to send it to the laboratory in charge of preserving the cells.

In case the tooth falls, the parents should place it in a clean container with milk and put it in the refrigerator until the laboratory specialists arrive and pick it up.

When the pieces spend a lot of time outside the mouth, it is no longer possible to rescue the dental stem cells. And you, would you encourage yourself to preserve your dental cells?
