Do you like the taste of beer?

In Mexico, 62 liters of beer per person are ingested annually, as indicated by figures from the Federal Consumer Procurator's Office (Profeco) ; But what makes it so pleasing to the palate? It may be that the answer lies in the taste of the beer.

A study conducted by researchers from the School of Medicine of the University from Indiana, they discovered that the taste of beer is the trigger for the brain to release the chemical substance of reward, dopamine.

Dopamine is a substance through which pleasure is experienced, which stimulates what is produced or consumed; example, the taste of beer.

Published in the magazine Neuropsichopharmacology, The study included the participation of 49 men, who underwent a scanner test while with an atomizer were sprinkled in the mouth small amounts of different types of drinks: energy and beer.

The results showed that the brain released more dopamine after beer and that men were more likely to say they wanted to drink an alcoholic beverage.

However, this was not all that the study revealed. David Kareken , specialist and leader of the research, indicates that this effect is more pronounced in men with a family history of alcoholism, which could mean that there is a hereditary risk factor for this disease.

Remember, your health is in your hands. Take care and love yourself!
