According to a study conducted in the United Kingdom, more than half of the social media users who were surveyed said that these networks changed their lives for good and for bad.

Nicky Lidbetter, CEO of the AnxietyUK organization , details that anxiety is not triggered by being on social networks, but being away from them.

Another similar study of University of Bergen in Norway , details that people with bad sleep habits were more likely to be Facebook-obsessed.

On the other hand, according to information published in The Huffington Post , the following characteristics can give you an idea if you suffer anxiety disorder by social networks:

1. You use the cell phone as if it were your main accessory.
2. Send a tweet to someone and if you do not respond in the next six hours you feel anxious
3. Place your smartphone on the table to send messages, check social networks.
4. If you post a photo on the different social networks and check every second to see if someone shared, liked or commented on something.

Stefan Hofmann, director of the Social Anxiety Program at the Boston University Center for Anxiety and Other Disorders , states that the pressure to read and respond on Facebook and Twitter is the main source of stress for people who use the sites.
