Discover with your smartphone if you are happy

Live the present, help others, try to smile, share what we have, spend more time with loved ones, do something new every day ... all that and more we do when we are looking for happiness.

However, how do we know if we are happy or not? Now you can find out thanks to the researchers of the University of Cambridge , who developed an application for Smartphone that allows you to measure your mood, which will surely help you if you are looking for happiness.

In accordance with Jason Rentfrow, senior lecturer in the department of psychology at the University of Cambridge , this application for cell phones with Android system, combines information generated by the sensors of the device with the perception that the user has of their own state of mind.

EmotionSense is the name of the application, available for free but in English, which collects the information generated by the sensors for a week and compares it with the user's emotional states, which is recorded by the same user whenever he or she wants in a box .

Once this process is completed, the application asks the user to fill out a satisfaction questionnaire. That activates the second sensor, the location sensor. Then, the user completes a series of questions to evaluate the positive or negative feelings and to establish their level of activity.

At the end of the eight weeks, the application provides the user with a report that shows how their daily activities are linked to their moods, which could allow them to identify harmful patterns of behavior.

Besides that it can be a useful tool if you are looking for happiness, this application is part of a research project that seeks to identify methods in which mobile phones can improve health (therapeutic mode) and the general well-being of people
