Diet soda makes you fat

A study conducted by the University of Texas revealed that for each can or bottle consumed per day, people increased the risk of overweight by 41%.

Other research published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, details that, of the 700 participants who drank light soda, 50% gained nearly three times more abdominal fat than those who did not.

Those who drank diet soda gained a little more than 20 centimeters of waist during the 6 months the study lasted.

The researchers found that artificial sweeteners stimulate sweet taste receptors in the brain. This is what causes you to drink excessively and gain weight.
