The Dr. Guadalupe Ponciano Rodríguez, from the Faculty of Medicine of the UNAM, commented that the consumption of this drug can have effects on the heart , increase in blood pressure , significant increase in body temperature and excessive perspiration. Because of its stimulating effect, it is a highly addictive drug.

The National Institute on Drug Abuse of the United States notes that it was developed as a derivative of amphetamine and was originally used as a dietary aid and to combat depression.

Typically, methamphetamine addicts ingest another type of drug , like alcohol, to lower the euphoric mood they present. Some chronic effects when there is a prolonged use of this type of drug are: addiction, psychosis, paranoia, hallucinations and very repetitive motor activity, for example, scratching constantly. It has also been associated with violent behavior.

There is also loss of memory, mental lacunae and emotional disorders, since the people who consume it tend towards depression and anhedonia, that is, they maintain a flat mood. There is also a loss of weight, a lot of dryness of the mouth and involuntary tightening of the jaws, which affects the gums and the dental pieces.

The medical use of methamphetamine in cases of narcolepsy, attention deficit disorder and only when the doctor considers it appropriate, is allowed in a very controlled manner to treat the obesity exogenous

One of the biggest risks of methamphetamine is that it can cause strokes, seizures and severe cases of kidney failure and even death. The specialist in addictions warned that by consuming this drug you do not even know if the central nervous system can be damaged once. "We know from young people that the first time they tested it, they were susceptible and ended up with irreversible damages."
