Camp for children with diabetes in Mexico

Does your child have diabetes? There is an entertaining and educational option for this summer. Tonalli It is the camp of the Mexican Diabetes Association (AMD) which aims to teach more to minors about the care and control of their disease, in a healthy, safe, cordial and reliable environment. Always with the support of professionals and specialists in the field.

The summer camp program includes the following areas:

  • Knowing my body : importance of the balance between glucose and insulin
  • Recognizing hyperglycemia , hypoglycemia and taking measures
  • Healthy habits of life and prevention of risks
  • Learning about me nutrition plan
  • Emotional health to integrate diabetes In Myself daily life
  • Physical activity as well-being experience

The Tonalli camp team is made up of specialist doctors, psychologists, nutritionists, diabetes educators and physical educators, who are responsible for the development and support of the program's themes.

  • Who can attend? Boys and girls between 8 and 17 years diagnosed with diabetes
  • Cost: 7 thousand pesos . Includes transportation, lodging, food, supplies for glucose monitoring, materials and accident insurance

In accordance with Carmen Ortega , Executive Director of the Mexican Diabetes Association, type 1 diabetes is the most common chronic disease in children and can affect even babies.
