California rejects recreational use of marijuana

Citizens of California in the United States voted against the legalization of marijuana for recreational use and its sale, indicating that it would generate legal chaos and the probability that people who consume it could arrive at work in poor condition.

The legalization of this drug lost by 9 percentage points, according to the latest results of surveys conducted by the agency Public Policy Polling, although the state will continue to allow its use under medical prescription and with medicinal to treat diseases or disorders.

"Today, Californians have recognized that legalizing marijuana will not make citizens healthier, save California from the crisis or reduce violence related to Mexico, "the White House Director of Drug Policy told the press, Gil Kerlikowske.

For his part, the Secretary of Health, José Ángel Córdova Villalobos spoke on the rejection of legalization of marijuana in California as an expected result, due to previous talks that had been held with Kerlikowske.
