According to a study published in the journal American Heart Association Circulation, The cardiovascular health of women living near the roads is worse since they increase the risk of suffering from the following diseases:

1. Hypertension

2. Infarction

3. Sudden cardiac death (infarction)

4. Fatal coronary disease

Jaime E. Hart, lead author of the study, explains that environmental exposures can be the risk factors for the development of heart diseases .

For example, those women who live 50 meters from the main roads have a 38% higher risk of sudden death than those who do not live nearby.

Meanwhile, every 100 meters approaching the road is associated with an increased risk of 6% sudden cardiac death.

 

"Regardless of where you live, the adoption of heart-healthy habits, such as maintaining a healthy weight, engaging in physical activity, eating nutritious foods, quitting smoking and controlling stress, helps to reduce the risk of heart disease and the blood vessels, "says Hart.
