Baby dies due to Mermaid Syndrome

A rare disease known as "Mermaid Syndrome" or Sirenomelia surprised doctors around the world.

A woman in India gave birth to the second mermaid baby in the world, who unfortunately died four hours after her birth.

This rare disease is a congenital lethal malformation since the lower extremities are totally fused by muscle and bone tissue. 98% of babies who suffer from it do not live more than seven days.
