Avoiding smoking before the age of 18 prevents smoking

In Spain 73% of children are pasive smokers ; teenagers who avoid cigarettes before age 18 it is practically impossible to light a cigar the rest of his life . These two ideas were some of the conclusions of the 2nd day of the VI Training Days for residents of Pediatrics organized by the (Spanish Association of Pediatrics) and the Institute of Child Nutrition Hero Baby

On this day Hero Baby said in a statement that the children of smokers they run a high risk of following in their footsteps before 11 years .

In this event it was exposed that more than 50% of Spanish children live with the tobacco in their homes and 73% are exposed to environmental tobacco smoke.

This is an alarming figure for pediatricians, since children are more likely to suffer effects of tobacco Because they breathe more times per minute than an adult, they have lower body mass and because of their height they are more exposed to contaminants environmental factors that tend to descend.

This is why minors are more likely to suffer or aggravate pathologies such as asthma, high levels of respiratory infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia and they are also more prone to suffer risk of sudden death, at the time that they will be more likely to develop pathologies in the adulthood and to become active smokers .
