Authorities recommend going to the doctor for heat stroke

Due to the increase of heat in the Mexican capital, the Ministry of Health of the Federal District made a call not to expose for a long time to the sun, not to remain in closed spaces with high temperatures and not self-medicate before the arrival of any symptom derived from the heat.

When presenting symptoms of dehydration, sunburn, insolation or heat stroke should go to the nearest Hospital or Health Center. The GDF made available the telephone number of Distance Medicine, 51 32 09 09 to report any emergency.

To avoid health problems, the local Ministry of Health recommends:

- Perform physical activities very early or at dusk, when the temperature drops. - Do not attend public events during the hours of greatest intensity of heat - Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight - Do not leave children locked in cars with the windows closed. - Ventilate the rooms. - Drink more liquids. - Avoid the consumption of food on public roads. - Check the freshness of fruits, vegetables, fish, meat and seafood before consuming them. - Wear light clothes and light colors. - Wearing a hat or umbrella to protect from the sun - Use sunscreens and lenses with ultraviolet protection.

Symptoms in hot season

Heatstroke and heat stroke can present the following symptoms: headache, body temperature greater than 40 ° C, fatigue, dry and red skin, rapid pulse, delirium, high blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, cramps muscle, seizures or coma and loss of consciousness.

Dehydration is manifested through the following signs: dryness of the mouth, collapse of eyeballs, rapid breathing, tachycardia, decreased urine flow, sinking fontanelle in infants (moyera), crying without tears and fluid evacuations and numerous.

While a sunburn can be identified if there are edema of the skin, erythema, vesicles, blisters, local pain and increased body temperature.
