About, Juan Ricardo Ruiz , Coordinator of Regulation and Quality of CIATEC, commented: "The problem is that here in Mexico there is no regulation, no norm that establishes the limits of content of dangerous substances; the footwear that is being imported has many of these contents ".

This situation generates significant risks for the health of consumers. It has been proven that these substances are highly carcinogenic :

"There are risks that people who use a product with these types of dangerous substances, present issues carcinogenic , reproductive Y even skin irritation ", it statesRicardo Ruiz .

It is certain that when using these products, which come mainly from China, Vietnam and Indonesia, there are other risks, such as growth in children , language deficiencies , behavior problems or hearing, kidney diseases , premature birth , anemia , high blood pressure , brain damage and pains:

"Although when there is an import product, when it comes by boat normally to preserve the humid environment methyl fumarate is used, that substance is impregnated in clothing or footwear and is highly irritating", reiterates Ricardo Ruiz.

The Chamber of Footwear of Guanajuato, will ask the competent authorities the creation of an Official Mexican Norm of innocuousness so that the footwear commercialized in Mexico is free of this type of dangerous substances.
