Against anxiety and depression training

Training not only helps older adults improve their memory and intelligence, but also children and adults. There are studies that show that brain training It could help in improving stress levels and make a person feel more at ease and relaxed.

Anxiety and stress are some of the biggest problems we face in the accelerated lifestyle we live in that could worsen chronic diseases. What is the reason why anxiety and depression are associated with death cases in the United States?

According to the National Alliance for Mental Illness, about 15 million Americans suffer from depression. While about 40 million Americans each year suffer from anxiety disorder.

Brain training is a cognitive therapy that allows you to respond to stimuli in a positive and healthy way, without generating anxiety. In general, relaxation techniques are used to relieve the attacks of anxiety and of depression .

How training works to achieve those results

Those who suffer from anxiety , depression and other behavior problems have an imbalance in the brain. The training aims to use neuro-feedback as a strategy to help learn or change the patterns of brain waves.

Neuro-feedback, also called neurotherapy , begins with the patient in his initial brain activity. This helps identify which activities are positive and negative for the patient and which ones will be used for the following sessions.

The waves are measured or recorded through the electroencephalogram or EEG. The sensors adhere to the scalp to monitor brain activity. Finally, the signals are filtered and the results can be seen on a screen or heard through headphones or speakers.

In neuroretrolling sessions, the state is determined when the mind is calmer and the person is trained to recreate that state and, finally, decrease their anxiety or depression. Systematic practice helps to reinforce these soothing patterns.

Brain training or neurotherapy sessions depend on the complexity of the symptoms, as well as the sensitivity of the patient. Each session usually lasts from 30 minutes to an hour and a half. The entire session is not only for neuro-feedback, much of the time it focuses on exercises and practices on how to relieve the brain of its negative activities.

Neuro-feedback is not only used by those who have anxiety and depression, those who have suffered emotional trauma, autism or learning problems, could also benefit. This could also significantly improve their social interactions.

Unlike medications for anxiety and depression, neuro-feedback is unlikely to produce side effects. Frequently, anxiety and depression reappear once the medication is stopped. However, neuro-feedback and training sessions do not replace the intake of medications. Experts recommend consulting with the specialist before stopping any type of medication.
