5 reasons why you should not drink when you drive

According to research from the National Addiction Center, some data have been collected on alcohol intake and consequences when driving while intoxicated. We present only 5 that could make you change your mind if you are going to drink and drive.

 

  1. Research conducted in emergency services in Mexico show that alcohol consumption up to six hours before the event increases more than six times the risk of a motor vehicle accident and even 25 times the risk to enter an emergency service for an injury resulting from a lawsuit or fight.
  2. During the necropsies of suicides in young people over 3 years, alcohol was found in a third of the cases, followed by homicides (22.6%) and accidents (15.6%), according to the Forensic Medical Service.
  3. The cases of injuries caused in situations of violence, such as assaults, fights, were in which are significantly higher readings of alcohol in the blood.
  4. In Mexico, 90% of the population older than 15 years consumes alcohol, for every 10 men there are 5 women who take it in excessive amounts.
  5. Nearly 50% of people who enter the criterion of being "alcoholic" present memory and thinking problems according to the journal Psychology Today. It has also been proven that the size and shape of the brain in adolescent alcoholics,they are smaller than the average .
